Our Facilities
Welcome to Golden Healing Journeys
Homestay, Rishikesh
We are a team dedicated to and inspired by yoga and ayurveda. We have delivered workshops, talks & panchakarma retreats both overseas and in India and now we’re excited to offer a homestay option in the holy city of Rishikesh.
Our mission is to provide you with an opportunity to take time to rest, relax and receive ayurveda treatments if you would like to. The apartment is located on a hill not too far from the Ram Jhula bridge - close enough to walk to, and far away enough for it to be peaceful. Most of the the sounds you will hear will likely be the birds singing and mantras being chanted in nearby ashrams. Depending on the time of year you visit, you might also get to see a variety of birds soar past the floor to ceiling window in the living room as they take time over the Ganga before moving on.
We’re so happy to welcome you to Rishikesh, our home is your home!

Eco Friendly
While the apartment has very modern facilities, water remains a precious commodity in India and the infrastructure does have some limitations. Please help us to keep water consumption low and reduce our impact on the local area by choosing some (or all if you would like) of the following:
-
-
turn the tap off between brushing your teeth and using the water
-
keep showers short
-
keep your towel for 2-3 days before changing it
-
when flushing the toilet please decide if you need the smaller or larger circle depending on how much water is needed
-
use wood based cotton buds instead of plastic ones
-
Showers
-
please turn on geyser about 20-30 minutes before wanting to take a shower
-
for the water to come out of the shower, pull and twist the silver knob until it stays in place
-
to enjoy a warm shower please set temperature and pressure to medium (not full) to last for longer
Cleaning will generally take place between 8:30am - 5:30pm
Power - In the event of a power cut, Ganga Vatika Retreat has back up generators 24/7. It might take a few minutes for them to start-up so please have bear with us until then.
Expectations
We will do our best to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a lovely home. Whatever we can do for you, just ask and we will do our best. We want to host like minded people and for you to enjoy your stay with us - if we’re not already friends of friends, then we hope by the time you leave you will feel like we are. Just a gentle note, we are a homestay not a hotel so if you would prefer hotel facilities we will do our best to suggest alternative options for you.
